CAMScot is a Registered Charity that exists with the singular aim to help more pupils from Scottish state secondary schools win places at the University of Cambridge.
With yearly applications for support now numbering nearly one hundred, we rely on a large network of volunteers associated with the University. All assistance is voluntary, and all services are free.

Bringing together pupils, schools, current undergraduates and alumni, we provide mentoring and mock interviews to ensure the best possible support for promising prospective applicants. Any high-achieving pupil at a Scottish state school who intends to apply to Cambridge in the upcoming cycle is welcome to register.
To apply for support, or to volunteer to support CAMScot as a mentor or interviewer, please sign up using the appropriate link below.
Please note that for pupils applying, we much prefer that you include a sponsor – normally a school staff member, but sometimes a parent/guardian – to support your application. We will require these later, so if possible please put them down at this stage. If there are any issues, please contact Phil Riddle at support@camscot.org.
For school pupils
If you are a high achiever considering applying to Cambridge this October, register here to get help with the application process, including online mentoring and interview practice. Support is free but you will be required to name a sponsor – a school staff member or parent – to support your registration.
For potential mentors (undergraduates, recent graduates)
Register here if you are a current or recent graduate of the University, and would be willing to help prospective applicants learn about Cambridge, navigate the process and develop critical thinking for their subject. Follow the link above and you will go on our volunteer mentor database. We shall contact you if and when there is an applicant in your subject area who would like support. All interaction is online and you will be under no obligations if proposals are inconvenient.
For teachers and school support professionals
Register here if you would like to help high-achieving young people in your school apply for Cambridge University. By following the link above you will be kept informed of developments and assistance that CAMScot can offer. Please note that all pupil registrants require a parent or school sponsor.
For other Cambridge alumni
If you are an alumnus/a of Cambridge and are interested in supporting CAMScot, please register here. By doing so, you will receive information on our progress and invitations to help. We particularly need assistant in publicising the initiative – particularly to schools – and in online interview coaching and mentoring. Please click on the link above to help more pupils from Sccotish state schools get to Cambridge.
Disclaimer
Although the aims of the CAMScot programme are supported by both the University of Cambridge and the Cambridge Society of Edinburgh, neither entity offers any underwriting or guarantees of its activities. All those offering one-to-one mentoring to prospective students have obtained the necessary PVG clearances under the law of Scotland. We rely wholly on volunteers to deliver assistance and all services are free.
CAMScot is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Number SCO53530) run by Cambridge University alumni volunteers in Scotland. We work to inspire and help more school pupils from Scottish schools to apply to Cambridge. We have close ties with the University but we are not official representatives acting on behalf of the University.
