Welcome

CAMScot brings together prospective Cambridge applicants, schools, current Cambridge undergraduates and Cambridge alumni with the single aim to help more Scottish state secondary school pupils win places at the University of Cambridge. All assistance is voluntary and all services are free.

To seek assistance or to volunteer to help please register below.

For school pupils

You are a high achiever considering applying to Cambridge in October of this year. Register here if you would like help with the application process and/or on-line mentoring and interview practice.

Alternatively, you can email pkr1@cantab.net if you would just like to discuss possibilities and what is involved.

For teachers and school support professionals

You would like to encourage and support high achieving young people in your school to apply for Cambridge University. By registering via the link above you will be kept informed of developments, be able to pose specific questions and be invited to join on-line briefings about applying to Cambridge.

For potential mentors – current undergraduates and recent graduates

You are a current undergraduate or recent graduate of the University and you would be willing to help prospective applicants learn about Cambridge, navigate the application process and develop critical thinking about their subject. Register via the link above and you will go on our volunteer mentor database and we shall contact you if and when there is an applicant in your subject area who would like assistance. You will be under no obligation if any proposal is inconvenient.

For Cambridge alumni

You are a Cambridge University alumnus/a and are interested in supporting CAMScot. By registering here you will receive information on our progress and invitations to help. We need assistance in publicising the initiative – particularly to schools – and in interview coaching and mentoring. Please click on the link above to help more Scots get to Cambridge.

Who we are

CAMScot is a Cambridge alumni organisation based in Scotland. We rely on volunteers amongst alumni, current students and teachers to reach Scottish school pupils to inspire more successful applications to Cambridge. We have close ties with the University but we are not official representatives acting on behalf of the University.

We rely wholly on volunteers to deliver assistance and all services are free.

Disclaimer

The aims of the CAMScot programme are supported by both the University of Cambridge and the Cambridge Society of Edinburgh, but neither entity offers any underwriting or guarantees of its activities. All those offering one-to-one mentoring to prospective students have obtained the necessary PVG clearances under the law of Scotland.
